• Futures & Commodities

  • Futures are standardized contracts among buyers and sellers of commodities that specify the amount of a commodity, grade / quality and delivery location. Commodity trading with futures contracts takes place at a futures exchange and, like the stock market, is entirely anonymous.

The NSE is working towards establishing a futures trading platform and has started testing a new IT system for trading currencies and other commodities in a bid to strengthen its bid for a license to set up and run Kenya s first futures market. The NSE has also joined the Association of Futures Market, a Budapest based organization that helps in the development and establishment of derivatives and related markets globally
